Matewan
the Place
to Ride!

Bill Sutterlin found his way from Chicago to Matewan, West Virgina several years ago to ride the Hatfield-McCoy Trails. Experiencing the trails and the history of Matewan, he realized that Matewan would be a great town to have an Inn and Saloon. He has ridden his off road vehicles throughout the country, including Colorado, Wyoming and Montana to name a few. In West Virginia, you feel welcomed when riding through the towns because of the hospitality. Bill saw the Buffalo Mountain Trails had the potential to be more challenging and exhilarating. Stay at the Blue Goose Inn and experience personally what the veteran rider has to offer.

Bill has volunteered his time to design and map the new trails on and around Buffalo Mountain. New trails were opened on Buffalo Mountain in 2009 and 2011. The connector trails between Buffalo Mountain and Rockhouse will also be open by the fall of 2012.
